Uncle William Speaks #3

What’s up everybody, it’s time for another Uncle William Speaks. I know it’s been a long time since I wrote one of these, but hey I am lazy and that’s the reason I stopped writing my own blog. I don’t really have a topic in mind right now but I guess I could mention that as I write this the cops are in my apartment.
Why you ask? Because my roommate has all sorts of drama with his girlfriend. To be honest, I am not used to all this drama. Most of my friends are pretty laid back, we are all older than him and his girl (he is 20 his girl is 19). They are always fighting with each other and to be honest it is really really annoying.
The cops are here though cause she was picking up some dude that likes her from the bar that and he was in like creeper-stalker mode, and when he got into her car, this dude tried to kiss her and he got out and confronted them. She goes into this thing like “he is drunk and we weren’t doing anything,” he starts yelling at this dude, and the guy gets out of her car, goes to his car and grabs a base ball bat. My roommate (who just had knee surgery) sees him coming for him with this bat and proceeds to take it away from him, throws him down and starts beating him in the face.
How all of this leads to cops in my apartment I am not too sure on, but that’s the story my roommate gave me when I asked him why there are cops here. His girl is a bitch anyways, and to be honest if I were him I would have kicked her to the curb awhile ago.
Anyways, I was back in Canton last night at the rents house. I got a call from momma Petersen yesterday after class and I had to go home to trade cars with my dad. See, him my sister and I get a new car every year and he had ordered a truck for himself. The truck is replacing the Fusion that I drive and I get his escape now until its my turn to order a new car (which should be some time in march they told me). It’s all good though, I like the escape, I had one before and this one has a bunch of nice extras because my dad ordered it for himself about 6 months ago.
So anyways, after class me and my cousin drove back to Canton to exchange the cars and my mom was so grateful to not have to drive down to Bowling Green to do it herself. She took us to Meijer and bought us groceries. Yeah I know I am 26 but hey free food is free food and I am a dirt poor college student.
Speaking of being dirt poor, I need to find myself a job already. All I want is like 15 hours a week at somewhere that isn’t fast food so I don’t have to shave my beard off. I am pretty excited though cause we set the date for the next get together for the crew. Now don’t get me wrong I like bowling green and all but the friends I have here aren’t as good of friends as these guys (and gals) are, and I don’t think they ever could be. Nothing against them or anything its just we have been through so much shit together.
One thing that’s different at BG that I never really experienced at State, was here I get a lot of people who I like to call [in my head] “class friends.” It seems it’s just about every class I have there is a group of students (usually about 4 or 5) that always sit by me and we talk before, after, and during class.
I don’t know what it is but it seems like I am always “holding court” in class before it starts. A lot of the time it starts out with people who have had a class or two with me before, and then since they recognize me, we start talking. I really don’t know why they start talking to me, I guess its because I talk a lot during class. Then the people around us start talking too and before I know it there is a group of us. Its really funny though because I always sit in the back of class, where I’m most comfortable, and I never skip, and the group around me hardly ever skips too. So it’s weird we always have the highest attendance of any section in the class.
Now, I never see these people outside of class. Well that’s almost true: there was this one girl who I started making plans with outside of class, we went out a few times, but she did some immature girly bull shit that forced me to say screw that I don’t need the hassle in my life. So I won’t be seeing her outside of class anymore. But yeah I never see these people outside of class that’s why I call them my class friends.
I have to mention this before I am done writing, which is, my favorite new tv show. I absolutely love Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. Its writing by Aaron Sorkin (the guy behind West Wing and Sports Night, also shows that I liked), but apparently the ratings haven’t been that good for it. So everybody, if you haven’t seen it, check it out. It’s a quality show. It airs on Monday’s at 10, but not the next Monday. NBC is showing Friday Night Lights instead. I heard if it gets better ratings than Studio 60 they might cancel it so everyone has to boycott NBC this Monday, but the one after it watch Studio 60!
Alright, that’s probably long enough. I hope you all enjoyed reading this. One last thing, there is an election coming up in a couple weeks so make sure you get out the vote and vote democrat. Like I always say, if you are a republican you are either rich or stupid.

It’s about damn time, and wow, that might have been the longest post ever on this blog.
I can definitely vouch for Studio 60 though. I think it is one of the hottest shows on tv right now, and every week I realize more and more, that the writing is really damn good.
Friday Night Lights is ok, but not better. There is actually this dude that stars in the show, that I’ve known since middle school.
