Let’s Hug it Out!
Wednesday, August 2nd, 2006So if you’ve talked to me in the past few weeks, you would know that my recently favorite show is Entourage. If you haven’t seen an episode, you need to stop reading this right now, and go to Blockbuster, and rent one of the seasons. But I could go on forever about the reasons I watch that show, because there are tons, but there is only one person that makes the show what it is, in my opinion.
Ari Goldman!! This guy is my new idol. You’re probably thinking, why John, it’s a tv show. Well you know what, he’s based off of a real person, and aside from that, little kids try to be Michael Jordan when more than likely, it won’t happen. Anyways, I like Ari’s style of business. He’s a go-getter, that loves and takes care of his clients. Yeah you might think he’s a prick on the show, but it’s all out of love, and it’s hilarious. If he wasn’t on that show, I don’t know if I would like it as much as I do. He’s just a power player that gets shit done and is the best at what he does.
Again, I know it’s a tv, but you can’t help but to admire his character and how he does things. So moving along, and analyzing the cast of Entourage, it makes me wonder, that if we took our group of friends, who would make the cut if we were to match that cast with our friends……..
Lets dig deeper. First on the list is Vince, who is the main character on the show (essentially). Vince is real chill, brings all his friends along with him on his journey, and pays for all their stuff. He has everyone else do his work for him, minus the acting. So who would fill that roll?! I’m going to go with Elliot. Granted he’s here and he’s there, you know who he is, and I think Elliot would fit that roll to a ‘t.’
Next up on the list is Johnny Drama. He’s always looking to get new rolls in whatever he can. He’s the brother of Vince, a little older, but is a goofy ass guy. He’s also the cook for the whole crew and makes sure they are eating right. My verdict for that roll would have to be Double O. He’s always trying to come up on a hustle one way or another, and can cook his ass off.
Next in line is Turtle. He’s always looking to make moves too. He’s got alot of style and is a funny ass dude. He’s mad loyal to all of his boys, especially Vince, since he pays for everything! My candidate for this would have to be Tran. I think Tran fits Turtle’s character mad nice actually, and I’d need a strong case for disagreement.
Eric is Vince’s main man. He keeps Vince in line, reads all of his scripts for him and keeps the whole crew on the right track. He is easily the smartest one of the group and seems to have a solid grasp on the Hollywood industry. He’s the one that decides what the next best moves will be for Vince, or the whole crew for that matter. Eric is also on the laid back side, and although he parties with the group, he’s not a wild guy, he has his head on quite straight. Dj Darko matches the profile for Eric pretty well. He’s definitely the smart one of the group and real chill, but gets things done.
Last but not least, is Mr. Ari Goldman. Now I already explained how he works. He’s a die-hard champ, a go-getter, and has the ability to punk the hell out of you if you try to screw him over. So who fits this roll? I am rolling with non other than Uncle William himself!! Like Ari, UW is down for his peoples, and would do anything for them. Although UW can be lazy at times, if there’s an opportunity to do something, he’s all over it. Both Ari and UW have a tendency to get loud also. Now I can’t say that he fits Ari’s profile to the bone, but he’s alot closer than anyone else.
I didn’t make the cut, obviously. I felt that some of the homies fit the bill for the characters alot better than me. I decided to leave out Lloyd too!!! Haha, I’ll leave that up to you to decide! Feel free, and I would encourage you to leave your feedback if you would place any other person in any of those rolls. I’d like to hear what you all think and why. Yes I’m addicted to Entourage, get over it, because it’s the best show on tv now….
Boom!
